Sovereign Tower has many more recruitable Knights than you see at the start of the game. Some Knights will join you automatically when you move through the story, while others can only be recruited after specific choices, quests, or reruns.
Many Knights also have alternate forms that change their appearance or story. You can miss a few of these transformations because they depend on tournament decisions, quest choices, or even letting a Knight die.
This guide will help you to recruit every Knight in Sovereign Tower and all Knight transformations.

Act I Knights
Angelica

Angelica is your starting Knight that is unlocked by default.
Requirement: None.
Goberto

Requirement: Goberto appears on Day 2.
Gwendan

Gwendan will join you after Goberto.
Requirement: He appears on Day 3.
Ursula

Ursula arrives later in the first act.
Requirement: She appears on Day 5.
Dulahan

Dulahan shows up after Goberto dies.
Requirement: Goberto must be dead.
This event can occur in any act.
Chester

Chester has one of the more specific recruitment chains.
First, accept his first quest and send Angelica.
During Chester’s second quest, pay attention to how he describes the eggs when he gives you the quest.
- Shiny — Send Gwendan.
- Delicious Aroma — Send any Knight with a mount.
- Smells Bad — Send any Knight carrying cheese.
Finish the second quest and meet Chester again. When the dialogue appears, do not choose “You’re Welcome.”
Once done, Chester can be easily recruited.
Grovershire and Gavault Knights
The recruitment of these Knights depends on which questline you are following.
You can side with:
- Arnold for Grovershire.
- Damian for Gavault.
There is also a secret third outcome for both questlines. You need to discover Gideon’s past, finish the game once, and then start a rerun. That route will open extra choices during these storylines.
The Grovershire path leads to The Wolf, Rufus, or Silgur, while the Gavault path leads to Brunhilda or Tarcus.
The Wolf

Choose the option to kill the beast and send Angelica.
Angelica will return with The Wolf as a companion.
Rufus

Choose the option to break the beast’s curse.
This will give you Rufus instead of The Wolf.
Silgur

Choose to kill the beast, but do not send Angelica.
This route recruits Silgur.
Brunhilda

Investigate the people and taverns instead of the nobles.
Later, do not help Brunhilda arrest her mother.
You can also finish the questline once, travel back in time, and invite Brunhilda at the start of the questline through the purple dialogue option.
The recruitment option also depends on earlier dialogue choices and a high enough Audacity score. If the option does not appear, rewind to your earlier conversation with Mathilda and use the invitation option.
Tarcus

Investigate the nobles during the Gavault storyline.
That path will recruit Tarcus.
Act II Knights
Arron
Defeat the Dragon Knight.
Arron will appear after that fight.
Gideon
Gideon does not need a special quest.
After you travel back in time, you can recruit him from the world map at any point.
Alwena
Alwena shows up when your Round Table has no Knights available.
You need to send all of your Knights on quests. For example, if you have three Knights, send all three away for two quest cycles. The next day, your tower should have nobody available.
Go back to the Round Table, and Alwena will offer to become a Knight.
Make sure you have an empty Knight slot before doing this.
Alwena normally stays for only one cycle on quests, although you can extend her quest time with mounts and similar equipment.
Ligia
Save her father during her questline.
If her father dies, Southbay’s settlements are destroyed, and Ligia becomes the new Countess. In that situation, she does not join the Round Table. So make sure you save her father to recruit her.
Also, be careful with the lamp during her storyline. If you have stolen the lamp and then lie about it, then Ligia will not ask to join your Round Table.
Childeric
Win the Almor Tournament without sending Goberto.
Childeric will join afterward.
Zolta
You don’t have to win the Kutnar race to recruit Zolta.
For his recruitment, cheat at any point during the race. You can also cheat with Tarcus or The Wolf.
Alternatively, use Dulahan in the third part of the race, and you’ll get a special result. A Lion mount can also produce a special interaction.
To recruit this Knight, you need 250 Gold.
Oliver
Do not kill Oliver in the prologue on your first playthrough.
Oliver appears in Act II, but his recruitment requirement is still unknown.
Many players found that Oliver can appear around Cycle 19 when your Scholar score is high enough. Make sure to get 20 Scholar since it is the most commonly reported value. However, the exact threshold is not fully confirmed.
Some players have recruited him on reruns, while others could not see him even after meeting the known conditions. In most opinions, you need to spare him from the start and keep your Scholar score around 20+.
Important: If you kill Oliver during the first prologue, it may permanently affect his recruitment on that save file, even during later reruns.
Act III Knights
Epicrates
You can recruit Epicrates in two ways.
- Win his trial.
- Break him out of prison.
If you choose the prison escape, do not send Tarcus. Players have confirmed that Tarcus tries to kill Epicrates during the breakout.
Edith
When the Moonvale emissary first arrives, choose the second dialogue option.
After you travel back in time, you can recruit Edith from the map.
Daugez
When one of your faction scores drops very low, Daugez will appear.
One confirmed method is to lower the people faction score to around 7. Around Day 26, an event will appear that lets you knight someone. Daugez will show up the next day.
Many players have reported that a different faction with a very low score can also trigger him to show up, but low noble satisfaction did not work in every playthrough.
Gothild
You can recruit Gothild in two ways.
On New Game+, take the “Assassination Sponsor” quest and kill Victoria.
You can also defeat Victoria in a duel before the murder investigation ends in the Yohav questline. Gothild will then approach you and ask to join the Round Table.
Victoria
Complete Victoria’s full series of quests.
She joins after the quest ends.
Ari
When the brothers arrive for the first time, choose the bottom dialogue option.
Later, recruit Ari from the world map.
Players have also found another route during the Basalt Isles questline. If you have enough merchant favor, ask the brothers if they know someone who can sell you a gryphon. This misunderstanding will bring Ari into the story, and you can recruit him afterward.
All Knight Transformations in Sovereign Tower
Many Knights can transform into alternate forms. Some only change their appearance, while others also change dialogue or abilities.
Buff Goberto
Send Goberto to the final Almor Tournament.
Do not kill the dragon during the initial round. The dragon must still be alive for the final-stage outcome, and that will trigger Goberto’s transformation.
Likeable Gwendan
Increase Gwendan’s affinity until you see the debt collector.
When the debt is mentioned at the Round Table, tell Gwendan to leave and pay it off himself.
Zombie Ursula
Let Ursula die.
Make sure that she dies three times to reach her full zombie form.
Her final transformation will turn her into a mindless husk. Her WIT or CHA ability will not work, even if she has equipped these items.
Human Dulahan
Send Dulahan to fight the political prisoners during the Almor Tournament.
During that battle, his human form will be unlocked.
Dulahan’s New Helmet
This time, you have to send any Knight except Dulahan to fight the political prisoners during the Almor Tournament.
Once done, the game will reward you with the helmet, which Dulahan can wear afterward.
The Wolf to Rufus
Keep the Wolf as your companion.
Later, after you have the witch in your story, a dialogue option will appear that will allow you to transform him into Rufus.
The Wolf and Rufus are not the same even if you later transform The Wolf into Rufus.
They have different stats and unexpected events. The Wolf also cannot use a horse and has a -2 cycle difference instead.
Silgur Transformation
- Recruit Silgur.
- Later, when the Dragon Knight appears for the second time, Silgur will give you an option related to defeating him.
- Send Silgur through that quest.
- Silgur will kill the Dragon Knight’s dragon.
- You’ll receive a Dragon Heart as the quest reward.
- On the next cycle, talk to Silgur before anyone else.
- He’ll ask about the Dragon Heart.
- Give him the Dragon Heart.
Edgy Arron
Give Arron a Dragon Heart.
He will change into his edgier alternate form.
Babysitter Arron
During the Moonvale questline, max out your Kindness level.
Send Arron on the solo Knight mission when it appears.
He will return with a tamed baby dragon and enter his Babysitter form. The dragon takes up Arron’s weapon slot.
Dragon Baby Arron
After killing the mother dragon, send Arron to kill the baby dragon.
This will give a special perk to Arron and a different ending.
Changed Edith
Send Edith on the relevant assassination/kill route.
When the transformation event becomes available, Edith will say:
“haha… the sword is laughing…”
The change is mainly her story- and dialogue-related. Her normal interactions disappear, and you may find new conversations.
Favorite Meals Of Every Knight
Meals are one of the most important things to increase your Knight’s Affinity and bonus score for their quest.
The right meal gives the Knight +1.5 Affinity and adds +0.5 bonus score to their quest. This can be useful when a quest has a chance to lower a Knight’s Affinity.
Once you unlock Meals from Arlin, you can prepare a meal for one Knight before you finish your Round Table quests.

Keep an eye on Affinity because repeated losses can cause you to miss a Knight’s personal quest or even make that Knight leave the Round Table.
Each Knight has preferred meals. Here are the known combinations:
| Meal | Knights |
|---|---|
| Galette-Saucisse | Brunhilda, Daguez, Chester, Dulahan, Goberto, Oliver, Rufus, Silgur, The Wolf |
| Croque-Monsieur | Chester, Childeric, Dulahan, Gothild, Gwendan, Oliver, Rufus, The Wolf, Victoria |
| Préfou | Angelica, Chester, Daguez, Dulahan, Epicrate, Ligia, Tarcus, Ursula, Victoria |
| Crêpe | Alwena, Angelica, Ari, Arron, Chester, Childeric, Daguez, Dulahan, Gideon, Gwendan, Ligia, Silgur, Zolta |
| Brizhian Butter Shortbread | Alwena, Ari, Arron, Chester, Dulahan, Edith, Epicrate, Gideon, Goberto, Gothild, Tarcus |
| Lion’s Taco | Brunhilda, Chester, Dulahan, Goberto, Ursula, Zolta |
Tip: Save the preferred meal for Knights whose Affinity is close to an important threshold. The +1.5 Affinity can make a difference when a quest has already reduced their relationship with you. The extra +0.5 quest score can also be useful when you need a little more score to complete a quest successfully.
