If you want to clear the TV Archive, it will take a hell of a time because there are 3,180 videotapes spread across 20 categories and 318 shelf rows.
You have to place each tape on its correct shelf. This guide will give you the complete shelf order, so you don’t have to search through the archive whenever you find a tape. You will also unlock the achievements by putting the tapes on their correct shelves.
It’s easy to use this list by pressing Ctrl+F and searching for the exact title of the tape you currently have. The shelf section in which you locate the title is the one where the tape should be placed, and the number before it indicates its exact position on that shelf.
How the Archive Works?
Each category has its own numbered shelf.
Every shelf is divided into bays with 3 rows. Each row belongs to one title, and the row contains all 10 copies of that title in volume order.
Whenever you complete a row, you get 1 skill point.
Use these skill points in the skill tree to enhance your sorting ability. When you have cleared the whole archive, the final door will then open.
No-Skill Mode Tips
No-Skill Mode is different since it doesn’t have highlighting or the auto-collect feature; you have to search for the tapes yourself.
Before you start sorting, walk around the archive and spread out the large piles of tapes.
Stand near a pile and press G to drop the tapes. They will spread across the floor instead of staying buried inside a large stack.
As a result, the tape covers can be easily seen.
You might also come across complete sets when you’re walking around. For example, several parts of the same movie or multiple seasons of a television show. When you find them, pick them up and put them onto the right shelf.
Although it does take a bit more time at the beginning, finding the tapes is much easier afterwards.
