The Lantern of the Laughless Saint Console Commands

The Lantern of the Laughless Saint Console Commands & Item IDs

The Lantern of the Laughless Saint comes with a Nerve Console that allows you to alter player stats, spawn items, teleport throughout the world, control NPCs, manage quests, and so on.

The console can be opened by pressing the Backtick (`) key, which is generally located below the ESC key on a US or UK keyboard.

If you type in any console commands, they will automatically target your character. But with some of the commands you have to first click on an NPC or an object while the console is open in order to select it. For most of these commands you can use the player-> prefix to indicate that you want to target yourself.

You can also use console commands to change individual skills and progression. If you want to build your character normally, check out our The Lantern of the Laughless Saint character builds and skills guide.

Below is the full list of console commands & cheat codes that you can use in the The Lantern of the Laughless Saint game. I have listed them seperate so you can know which Item IDs are working and which are not.

The game is currently in Early Access, which means that some commands and item IDs might change as the development work continues.

How to Open the Console?

Press the ` key to open the Nerve Console.

Once it is open, type the command you want to use and press Enter.

Most Useful Console Commands

  • help — Shows the commands available in the Nerve Console.
  • help COMMAND | CATEGORY — Shows more information about a specific command or category.
  • clear — This clears the console output.
  • history — Displays the commands that have recently been used.

The Lantern of the Laughless Saint Player Console Commands

These commands are related to your character.

CommandUses
tgmEnables God Mode and you can’t take damage.
godAlternative command for God Mode.
togglegodmodeAlternative command for God Mode.
tclToggles collision and allows you to move through walls.
noclipAlternative command for tcl.
healRestores your health, magic, and stamina to full.
fillstatsAlternative command for heal.
sethealth <value>Sets your maximum and current health.
setmagic <value>Sets your maximum and current magic.
setstamina <value>Sets your maximum and current stamina.

setspeed <multiplier>Alternative command for speed.
notargetStops enemies from detecting and attacking you.
showstatsDisplays the stats of the selected entity.
getstatsAlternative command for showstats.
resurrectRevives the selected corpse, including yourself.

For example, speed 5 gives you a 5x movement speed multiplier. It does not set your movement speed to a value of 5.

The tcl/noclip command currently has a limitation where movement along the Y axis does not work normally. Only the X and Z axes are available while using it.

XP and Level Commands

  • addxp <value> — Adds the specified amount of XP.
  • givexp <value> — Alternative command for addxp.
  • setlevel <value> — Sets your character to the specified level and grants the skill/perk points normally earned up to that level.
  • addskillpoints <value> — Adds skill points.
  • addperkpoints <value> — Adds perk points.

The highest value that can be accepted by the skill point and perk point commands is 2147483647.

Skill Commands

Use:

setskill <name> <level>

The available skill names are:

onehanded
twohanded
spears
unarmed
archery
blocking
armor
sorcery
channeling
psionics
acrobatics
sprinting
swimming
sneak
lockpicking
pickpocket
alchemy
fishing

For example:

setskill onehanded 100

You can set skill values from 0 to 2147483647.

Changing a skill level directly does not give you the XP that would normally be required to reach that level.

  • listskills — Shows all the skills, including those at the trained and effective levels.

The trained level is your base skill level, while the effective level also includes bonuses from equipment or racial bonuses.

Perk Commands

  • grantperk <perk> — This gives you the specified perk without needing to meet its usual unlock conditions.
  • hf_grantperk <perk> — Alternative command for grantperk.
  • removeperk <perk> — Removes a perk from your character.
  • hf_removeperk <perk> — This is another command for removeperk.
  • listperks — Displays all the perks and indicates whether or not your character currently has them.
  • hf_listperks — Another command for listperks.

When you enter a perk name, use the name exactly as it is written, including the spaces.

The perk points which were originally used to obtain a perk are not refunded when the perk is removed.

Item Console Commands

The commands listed below enable you to add, remove, or spawn items.

  • additem <item> [amount] — This will add an item to your inventory or to the inventory of the selected target.
  • removeitem <item> [amount] — This will remove an item from your inventory or the selected target’s inventory.
  • gold <amount> — This command allows you to add or remove golds; a negative value means that gold will be removed.
  • addgold <amount> — Another command for gold.
  • spawnitem <item> [amount] — Spawns an item in the world that you can pick up.
  • placeitem <item> [amount] — Alternative command for spawnitem.

Finding Item IDs

You can use the following commands to search for item IDs:

  • listitems [filter]
  • listweapons [filter]
  • listbows [filter]
  • listapparel [filter]
  • listshields [filter]
  • listpotions [filter]
  • listingredients [filter]
  • listfood [filter]
  • listbooks [filter]
  • listspelltomes [filter]
  • listammo [filter]
  • listquestitems [filter]

You can search for a particular word using the optional filter.

For example, using: listitems sword will display items that contain the word sword.

Important: listitems only shows those items which are currently loaded in the nearby area, and as a result it does not give a full list of all the item IDs in the game.

Magic Console Commands

  • addspell <spell> — Adds a spell to your character.
  • learnspell <spell> — Alternative command for addspell.
  • removespell <spell> — Removes a spell from your character.

World and Teleport Commands

These commands are useful when you want to move around the map or get unstuck.

  • travel <place> — Teleports you to a named location.
  • goto <place> — Alternative command for travel.
  • tpto <place> — Alternative command for travel.
  • listplaces — Shows named locations available for travel.
  • listpois — Alternative command for listplaces.
  • tp <x> <y> <z> — Teleports the selected target to the specified coordinates.
  • setpos <x> <y> <z> — Alternative command for tp.
  • getpos — Displays the selected target’s XYZ coordinates.
  • fixme — Applies force to your character if you are stuck in geometry.
  • unstuck — Alternative command for fixme.
  • moveto — Teleports a selected object to you.
  • summon — Alternative command for moveto.
  • settime <hour> — Advances the game clock to the selected hour.
  • sethour <hour> — Alternative command for settime.
  • settimescale <day-minutes> — Changes how many real-world minutes an in-game day takes.
  • settimescale reset — Restores the default time scale.
  • slomo <multiplier> — Changes the overall game speed.
  • gamespeed <multiplier> — Alternative command for slomo.

The settime command uses the 24-hour clock. For example, use: settime 19 to set the game clock to 7 PM.

This command only moves the clock forward, not backward.

For settimescale, entering:

settimescale 12

Results in a complete in-game day taking 12 real-world minutes.

NPC and Target Commands

These commands require a target in many cases.

  • spawnnpc <npc> [amount] — Spawns the selected NPC in front of you.
  • kill — Kills the selected target.
  • killall [radius-m] — Kills hostile NPCs within the specified area.
  • killhostiles [radius-m] — Alternative command for killall.
  • disable — Hides the selected target and disables its collision.
  • enable — Restores a disabled target.
  • delete — Removes the selected target from the world.
  • setscale <scale> — Changes the size of the selected target. 1 is normal size.
  • unlock — Unlocks the selected door or container.
  • lock <level> — Locks the selected door or container at the chosen lock level.
  • getid — Shows the selected target’s ID and XYZ coordinates.
  • info — Alternative command for getid.

If no target has been selected the kill command will have no effect. To kill your own character you must use the player-> prefix.

By default, the killall command has a radius of 40 metres unless you enter one.

AI and Crime Commands

  • tai — Toggles all NPC AI in the game.
  • tcai — Toggles combat AI only.
  • calm — Immediately stops your current combat.
  • stopcombat — Alternative command for calm.
  • setbounty <amount> — Sets the bounty of the selected target.
  • paybounty — Pays your current bounty if you have enough gold.

When using setbounty you should be careful because if another target is chosen the bounty will be given to that target rather than to your character.

If you set your own bounty at 0, then pursuers will stop chasing you.

Quest Console Commands

The following commands let you manipulate your current quests.

  • listquests — Displays your current quests and their states.
  • startquest <quest> [state] — Starts a quest at the specified state.
  • setqueststate <quest> <state> — Changes the state of a current quest.
  • completequest <quest> — Immediately completes a current quest.
  • failquest <quest> — Fails a current quest.
  • forgetquest <quest> — Removes a quest from your journal as if you never had it.

At the moment there is no dependable command on the list of console commands for showing all the quest names in the game; that is why a full list of quest IDs is not given here.

Save and System Commands

  • save [name] — Saves the game.
  • load [name] — Loads a save.
  • listsaves — Shows all available save files.
  • netgraph [0|1|2] — Toggles the network performance overlay.

For netgraph:

  • 0 — Turns the overlay off.
  • 1 — Shows ping, packet loss, and FPS.
  • 2 — Adds the bandwidth graph.

In co-op mode the load command can be used by only the host; when the host saves, the guests are given a copy of the host’s world.

Important Note About Item IDs

Currently, you can not use the every ID found inside the game through the console.

The lists above separate the known working IDs from IDs that exist in the files but currently fail with additem or spawnitem. These may represent unfinished content, disabled content, or items that use different IDs for console spawning.

The item lists may also change as The Lantern of the Laughless Saint receives new Early Access updates.

Quest item and ring IDs may be added separately once their console behavior and IDs are confirmed.
