How to Fix Mouse Delay in Peace Walker?
The first thing you can try is changing your mouse polling rate to 125 Hz.
Your mouse software may use a different name for this setting, such as Polling Rate or Report Rate.
The exact steps can vary on the mouse brand you are using. If you have one of the popular gaming mice below, you can change the polling rate from its official configuration software.
Logitech G Mice
- Open Logitech G HUB.
- Select your mouse.
- Open the Gear/Settings or Performance section.
- Find Report Rate.
- Set it to 125 Hz.
Razer Mice
- Open Razer Synapse.
- Select your mouse.
- Open the Performance tab.
- Find the polling rate option.
- Change it to 125 Hz.
SteelSeries Mice
- Open SteelSeries GG.
- Go to Engine.
- Select your mouse.
- Open the device settings or configuration panel.
- Find Polling Rate and set it to 125 Hz.
Corsair Mice
- Open Corsair iCUE.
- Select your mouse.
- Open Device Settings or the relevant performance settings.
- Find the polling rate frequency.
- Set it to 125 Hz.
Once you’ve changed the Polling Rate/ Report Rate to 125 HZ, go and launch the METAL GEAR SOLID: Peace Walker – Master Collection Version. Try to play the game and check if you can freely use the mouse without any delay or lag.
Can’t Set Your Mouse to 125 Hz? Try the Beta Version
Some mice do not provide an option to lower the polling rate. The same can also be an issue for players who do not have compatible mouse software.
In that case, Konami has provided a temporary workaround through the game’s beta branch.
How to Enable the Peace Walker Beta Branch?
- Open the Steam Client and go to your Library.
- Find METAL GEAR SOLID: Peace Walker – Master Collection Version.
- Right-click the game and select Properties.
- Open the Betas or Game Versions & Betas section.
- Find the Private Betas field.

- Click Check Code.
- After the code is accepted, select beta from the available beta branches.
- Steam will automatically download the beta version.
- Once the update finishes, launch the game and test your mouse.
This beta version is rolling out as a temporary workaround while Konami is investigating the original mouse control issue.
Mouse Sensitivity May Increase on the Beta
If you are using the meta version, then you should also note an important thing. Konami says that the beta can increase mouse sensitivity in some environments. If you feel that the mouse is working or moving too fast, open the game’s Options menu and lower the mouse sensitivity.
Also, if you previously changed your mouse polling rate to 125 Hz, Konami recommends that you should change it to its previous setting before launching the beta version.
How to Return to the Normal Version
If the beta version is causing another problem or you want to return to the standard game version:
- Open Steam Library.
- Right-click METAL GEAR SOLID: Peace Walker – Master Collection Version.
- Select Properties.
- Open the Betas section.
- Change the selected branch from beta to Default Public Version.
- Steam will download the standard version again.
- After the download finishes, launch the game normally.
Since the beta is still a test version, I recommend you to revert to the standard branch if you run into additional issues.
Which Fix Should You Use?
If you can change your mouse polling rate, I will recommend this option because it has helped many players and they are happy.
Just Set the polling rate to 125 Hz and play the game.
If you cannot change the polling rate, then you can use the beta branch with the private code.
If you are using a gamepad, then you do not need this mouse workaround. Players who are not experiencing any mouse problems can continue using the normal version without changing anything.
