Scarlet Skips High Score Guide

Scarlet Skips High Score Guide: Best Upgrades List

Scarlet Skips has recently been launched, and it is a simple one-click jumping game. You help Scarlet keep jumping, jumping, and jumping the rope. When you make some jumps, you get options to level up by choosing different upgrade cards. These cards improve the overall performance of Scarlet and her abilities. The basic gameplay is easy to understand, but getting a really high score takes the right upgrades and a bit of luck.

If you want to reach higher scores, then you should focus on these upgrades: Jump Height, Luck, and Rocket Boots. Once you start jumping with these upgrades, you can stay in the air for a long time and collect several upgrades during a single jump.

How to Play Scarlet Skips

The gameplay is easy to understand, as you have to use only one button to make Scarlet jump and jump. Just click when the rope is close to Scarlet’s feet, and she will jump.

The timing is also very important in this game. If you press the button when the rope is not close to her feet, she will fall. Make sure you try to focus on the rhythm of her bouncing instead of just pressing the damn button randomly. With some practice, you’ll understand the timing and the pattern.

You can also experiment with different cards while playing. When you level up, choose any card from the 3 random power-ups.

Some upgrades make jumping faster, while others improve your chances of getting useful upgrades or help you stay airborne longer.

Best Upgrades for a High Score

When you start a run, keep jumping and pick upgrades as they appear when you level up. However, try to prioritize these three:

  • Jump Height
  • Luck
  • Rocket Boots

Your main priority should be the Jump Height upgrade in the early game. The higher Scarlet jumps, the more loops you can complete before coming back down.

Luck is also important because it can help you get better upgrade cards. Once your Luck becomes high enough, you can start getting multiple upgrades during a single jump.

Rocket Boots can be useful later. Don’t stress your mind about choosing a perfect card right at the beginning, but make sure you start upgrading them as your jump height improves.

You Don’t Need Many Jump Ropes at First

You can keep your setup relatively small in the early part of the run.

Having around 2–4 jump ropes is enough while you focus on increasing Jump Height and Luck. You can reinforce them or add more if you want, but you don’t need to rush into building a large number of ropes.

The reason is simple: later on, your upgrades can become much more valuable than the ropes you’re losing.

How the High-Score Strategy Works

After enough upgrades, Scarlet will start jumping high enough to complete multiple loops during one jump.

This is where the strategy starts to work.

With enough Jump Height and Luck, you will start receiving several upgrade cards after leveling up. The important part is that Rocket Boots regain their fuel when you receive an upgrade.

So when you get an upgrade, make sure to use the rocket fuel again to keep Scarlet moving upward.

rocket fuel

You can create a cycle like this:

Jump → Get an upgrade → Rocket fuel resets → Use rocket fuel → Get another upgrade → Repeat

Once you start getting multiple upgrades before coming back down, the score will boost to millions in no time.

When to Upgrade Jump Rope Speed and Quantity

Once you’re consistently getting multiple upgrades during a single jump, you can start putting more upgrades into Jump Rope Speed and Jump Rope Quantity.

At this stage, even if you lose a few ropes, this will not become a big problem because you’re getting enough upgrades to replace them.

This is also the point where you can start adding more ropes without slowing down your progress.

The important thing is to reach the upgrade cycle first. Don’t sacrifice your Jump Height and Luck too early only to increase the number of ropes.

How to Stay in the Air Continuously

Your next goal should be to upgrade your Rocket Boots enough that you can get another upgrade before your current rocket fuel runs out.

If you manage to reach that point, you can keep holding the rocket control and continue jumping instead of falling back down.

The cycle then becomes almost self-sustaining:

  1. Hold the rocket fuel to keep jumping.
  2. Reach another upgrade.
  3. Your rocket fuel will reset.
  4. Keep jumping.
  5. Repeat the process.

If your upgrades are strong enough, you can keep Scarlet in the air for a very long time.

Start Using Better Ropes Later

Once the Rocket Boots cycle is working consistently, you can start upgrading your ropes.

This is a good time to add Fire ropes and increase your Jump Rope Quantity.

Fire ropes

You should still keep upgrading Rocket Boots, though. As your run progresses, the requirements for the next upgrade become higher, so you don’t want your rocket fuel to fall behind.

Many reports say that Luck and Jump Rope Speed may eventually reach a cap, although this is not confirmed. If they stop giving benefits, you can focus on:

  • Jump Rope Quantity
  • Rocket Boots
  • Fire ropes
  • Rocket Fuel

What a Good Run Looks Like

The strategy is basically about turning your upgrades into a loop.

Early in the run, focus on Jump Height and Luck. Keep around 2–4 ropes and don’t worry about having a huge setup.

Once you can get several upgrades in one jump, start using Rocket Boots continuously. The fuel reset from each upgrade lets you keep jumping for longer.

After Rocket Boots become strong enough, start increasing rope quantity and then move toward Fire ropes. If you manage to get upgrades before the rocket fuel runs out, you can potentially stay airborne without dropping back down.

One player reported that they used this strategy to reach around 200,000 loops before the game crashed. The player said that their laptop was fairly weak, so the strategy may be capable of going farther.

A Note About This Strategy

Scarlet Skips is still a new game, so this strategy may change as the game receives updates. The strategy is also based on limited playtime, so some parts may not work for you as they did for me.

Still, my main strategy is straightforward: upgrade Jump Height and Luck first, then use Rocket Boots to turn your upgrades into a continuous flight cycle.
