DRAPLINE is a roguelite training game where you raise a dragon girl and train her to become stronger within one year. You can feed her different things to improve her stats, combine skills to build your setup, and prepare her for the challenges ahead.
Aura is the part of the training system, and it changes based on the stats you build and how you treat her during the run. DRAPLINE has 6 Auras that you can collect, and this guide will explain the exact stat combinations and behavior that you need for each one.
How Auras Work in DRAPLINE
The six auras are split between Offensive and Defensive stats.
Offensive stats:
- STR
- INT
- AGI
Defensive stats:
- HP
- VIT
- RES
Your treatment also matters:
Kind
- Let her eat what she wants.
- Praise her when she does something well.
- Don’t scold her when she does something bad.
- During the three-week island section, if you let her eat everything, then it also counts as Kind.
Strict
- Don’t let her eat random things.
- Don’t praise her for doing well.
- Scold her when she does something bad.
- On the three-week island, telling her to leave something for the environment counts as Strict.
Your aura is based on this combination rather than the RULE or WILD values.
How to Get All 6 Auras in DRAPLINE?
Here are the stat and behavior combinations you need:
| Aura | Stats | Behavior |
|---|---|---|
| Adored | STR + AGI | Kind |
| Chill | HP + VIT + RES | Kind |
| Mischievous | STR | Strict |
| Reserved | HP + VIT + RES | Strict |
| Whimsical | INT + AGI | Strict |
| Steady | INT | Kind |
Adored
For this Aura, put your points into STR and AGI and be Kind to the dragon girl.
You want the offensive stats to be higher than the defensive ones, with STR and AGI being the important stats for this aura.
Chill
Chill is the defensive Aura you get when you’re Kind.
Build HP, VIT, and RES so your defensive stats are higher than your offensive stats. You also need to keep making Kind choices before you defeat the second boss.
Mischievous
Focus on STR and be Strict.
The newer aura requirements put more emphasis on a single stat, so don’t spread your offensive stats too evenly if you’re specifically trying to get Mischievous.
Reserved
Build your defensive stats and stay Strict.
Build HP, VIT, and RES, then be Strict with the dragon girl. Your defensive stats need to be higher than your offensive stats before you defeat the second boss.
Whimsical
Whimsical is one of the two newer auras, and it is more specific than the older combinations.
Focus on INT and AGI, stay Strict, and make INT your main stat.
I found in my testing that AGI needs to be higher than STR. The safest target is: INT > AGI > STR
You also need to be Strict. If STR gets higher than AGI, you can end up with a different Aura instead.
Steady
For Steady, make INT your main stat and be Kind.
This Aura is more focused on INT than the other offensive combinations, so keep building INT instead of trying to raise STR and AGI alongside it.
When Does the Aura Get Decided?
Your aura is determined by your stats and behavior before defeating the second boss.
That means you should not wait until the end of the run to start focusing on the required stats. Build toward your target aura from the start and keep your Kind or Strict choices consistent.
For the newer auras, focusing on the correct stat is especially important. If you spread your stats too much, you can end up getting one of the older auras instead.
Do RULE and WILD Affect the Aura?
Based on my testing, RULE and WILD do not affect which aura you receive.
Your main concerns are:
- Which stats you build.
- Whether you choose Kind or Strict actions.
- Your stat balance before the second boss.
For Whimsical, in particular, keep INT as the main stat, AGI above STR, and stay Strict.
DRAPLINE has many different endings as well, and your choices can affect them. If you’re also trying to unlock them all, check out my DRAPLINE All Endings Guide.
