If you’re stuck in Saihate Station, this walkthrough covers every important step from the beginning of the game. You’ll learn how to collect all Red Tickets, solve puzzles, unlock hidden areas, and reach every ending without missing anything important.
Tip: This guide focuses on the main progression, but don’t ignore optional interactions. Examining extra objects can unlock additional dialogue and gives you more story details.
Part 1: First Carriage & Driver’s Cabin
The opening section of Saihate Station acts as a short tutorial while introducing the game’s first puzzle. Before leaving the train, you’ll need to collect a few key items, wake up your companion, and solve a password lock to continue the story.
Tip: Examine every interactive object you come across. Even if an item isn’t required to progress, many interactions unlock extra dialogue and provide more background about the game’s story.
Pick Up the Handkerchief
After the opening scene ends, you’ll wake up inside the first train carriage.
Before doing anything else, inspect the nearby bag and take the Handkerchief. This item becomes useful a little later, so don’t forget to collect it.
Check the Driver’s Cabin
Walk to the Driver’s Cabin at the front of the carriage.
Inside, interact with the Driver’s Seat. This is a required interaction.
Once you’ve examined it, return to the passenger carriage.
Wake Up Shion Tatsunami
You’ll notice a white-haired boy sleeping on one of the seats.
Interact with him three times until he finally wakes up. His name is Shion Tatsunami, and he’ll accompany you throughout the rest of the game.
Shion also provides helpful hints during several puzzles, so make sure to pay attention whenever he comments on something.
Get the Operator’s ID Card
Near the entrance to the driver’s cabin, you’ll spot a sparkling object that’s just out of reach.
Interact with it, then choose to piggyback Shion Tatsunami. He’ll get you the item, and you’ll get the operator’s ID card as a reward.
Unlock the Cabinet
Return to the Driver’s Cabin and use the Operator’s ID Card on the locked cabinet.
Inside, you’ll find the Oil Lighter.
This item is required for the next clue, so make sure it’s in your inventory before moving on.
Discover the First Password Clue
Right next to the cabinet you just unlocked is another cabinet.
Inspect it while carrying the Oil Lighter.
You’ll discover a small scrap of paper with the number: 16
Remember this number—you’ll need it very soon.
Inspect the Remaining Objects
Before leaving the cabin, examine both of the following objects:
- Radio
- Paper
Reveal the Second Password Clue
Head back to the passenger carriage.
There are two things you need to interact with:
- The blood stain
- The Romance Film Poster
Use the Romance Film Poster to wipe away the blood stain.
Doing this reveals another hidden piece of paper containing the number: 52
You should now have both password clues:
- 16
- 52
Solve the Door Password
The locked door requires a four-digit code.
At first, you might think the answer is 5216, but that’s incorrect.
The clue is to look at the numbers from another perspective.
Turn the numbers upside down, and they become:
- 52 → 25
- 16 → 91
This gives you the correct password:
2591
Enter this code to unlock the door and continue.
Leave the First Carriage
Once the password has been entered successfully, the locked door will open.
Exit the first carriage to reach the station platform and begin exploring the outside area.
Part 2: Station Exterior & Second Carriage
After escaping the first carriage, you’ll arrive at the station platform. This section introduces the first Red Tickets, a major electrical puzzle, several important story events, and another password challenge. Make sure to explore carefully, as missing an item can stop you from progressing.
Collect the First Red Ticket
As soon as you reach the station platform, look for the trash bin nearby.
Interact with it and search inside. You’ll find your first Red Ticket hidden inside.
Read the Newspaper
Next, examine the newspaper placed on the nearby bench.
While this interaction isn’t required to continue the story, it provides additional lore and helps you better understand the strange events surrounding Saihate Station.
Head to the Second Carriage
Walk toward the left side of the station until you reach the entrance of the Second Carriage.
Enter the carriage to continue exploring.
Take the 500 Yen
Inside the carriage, locate the bag sitting in front of the fourth row of seats.
Search it to steal 500 Yen. You’ll need this money later, so don’t leave without picking it up.
Go Upstairs
Head upstairs and look for a painting hanging on the wall.
Inspect it and remove the painting to reveal a hidden Rusty Knife.
Pick it up before moving on.
Unlock the Electrical Room
Continue walking to the right side of the upper floor.
Pass through the restroom area until you reach the locked room.
Instead of using a key, use the Rusty Knife to force your way inside and enter the Electrical Room.
Solve the Electrical Puzzle
Inside the Electrical Room, you’ll encounter your first major puzzle.
If you speak with Shion Tatsunami, he’ll provide several hints to help you figure it out yourself.
If you’d rather skip the puzzle, use the correct switch order below:
- Yellow
- Red
- White
- Blue
- Green
Once you complete the sequence successfully, it will restore the power.
Escape the Fire
After restoring the electricity, try leaving the room.
Suddenly, a fire breaks out and blocks your escape.
If you try to use the Oil Lighter right away, it will fail.
Once the countdown timer appears:
- Run straight to the top-right corner of the room.
- Interact with the object there to collect Oil.
- Return to the exit.
- Use the Oil together with the Oil Lighter to clear the way and escape before time runs out.
This is a timed sequence, so don’t waste time exploring while the countdown runs.
Check the Computer
Leave the restroom area and return to the Restaurant/Bar section of the carriage.
Interact with the Computer.
After accessing it, open the Recycle Bin to find additional story information.
Optional Conversation with Shion
Now that the power has been restored, you’ll notice a glowing table nearby.
Talk to Shion.
This conversation adds a surprising amount of extra dialogue and character development, but it’s totally optional.
You can interact with the table several times to listen to all the conversations available.
Buy a Drink from the Vending Machine
Go downstairs and use the Vending Machine.
Instead of receiving a normal drink, you’ll get a rather disturbing item—a Severed Hand.
Throw the Severed Hand Away
Carry the Severed Hand upstairs to the restroom area.
Interact with the window and throw the hand outside.
Follow Shion
Return downstairs and try to leave the carriage.
A cutscene will play, during which Shion suddenly runs away.
Immediately head upstairs and follow him into the restroom area.
Talk to Shion, then leave the carriage once the conversation ends.
Solve the Missing Person Poster Password
Outside the carriage, walk toward the right side of the station.
Near the white benches, you’ll find three important clues:
- A Note
- A Missing Person Poster
- A Station Map
Inspect all three before attempting the nearby password lock.
The hint points toward someone’s birthday.
If you check Haru’s Notebook (press Esc on keyboard or X on controller), you’ll find Haru’s Staff ID along with the birthday:
12/12/19XX
The puzzle only requires the month and day, so the correct password is: 1212
Enter the code to receive your second Red Ticket.
Find the Third Red Ticket
Return to the Electrical Area.
Near the entrance to the Second Carriage, locate the fourth cross.
Inspect the small hole beside it to discover your third Red Ticket.
Continue to the Third Carriage
With three Red Tickets collected, head toward the glowing spot near the entrance of the Third Carriage.
Use it to start the next story sequence and continue on your journey.
Part 3: Endings A, B & C
By the time you reach this section, you should have completed Part 1 and Part 2, including collecting the first three Red Tickets. This final route takes you through the last story area and explains exactly how to unlock Ending A, Ending B, and Ending C.
Spoiler Warning: The following section contains major story spoilers and the final events of the game.
Collect the Fourth Red Ticket
Before continuing to the ending route, return to the Electrical Room on the upper floor of the Second Carriage.
Search the room once more to collect the Fourth Red Ticket. You now have all four tickets needed to open the restricted gate.
Unlock the Four-Ticket Gate
After the next story sequence, you’ll wake up inside the First Carriage again.
Leave the carriage and head downstairs to the gate that requires four Red Tickets.
Insert all four tickets to unlock the gate, then continue into the newly opened area.
Enter the Only Accessible Room
Continue until you find a building with a single unlocked room.
Go inside and start exploring.
Read Every Document
There are several papers scattered around the room.
Read them first before you interact with anything. These documents provide important context for the story and prepare you for the conversation ahead.
Speak with the Shadow
Once you’ve finished reading, interact with the mysterious Shadow.
During the conversation, you’ll be asked a question.
Select the following answer:
“All of them are lies.”
Receive the Key
After the conversation ends, the Shadow will give you a Key.
Use it to unlock the first door nearby.
Explore the Room
Inside the next room, interact with the Knife Sharpener located in the center.
Before leaving, take some time to examine the rest of the room.
Cut Open the Red Cocoon
Leave the room and continue forward.
A strange red cocoon blocks the passage ahead.
Use your Knife to cut through it and clear the path.
Ride the Elevator
Walk through the newly opened passage.
Keep moving straight until you reach an Elevator.
Step inside to trigger the next story sequence.
Inspect the Bag
After the elevator scene, examine the nearby Bag.
Look inside for one of the biggest story twists in the game and a step forward in the final chapter.
Return to the Moving Train
Following the cutscene, you’ll wake up inside the train once again.
This time, however, the train is running normally.
Move into the next carriage to continue.
Hide Aoi’s Body
Inside the next carriage, place Aoi’s body inside the bag.
After doing so, you’ll receive the Handkerchief back.
Use it to clean the blood before moving on.
Escape from Shion
After cleaning the blood, Shion begins chasing you through the train.
From here, your actions determine which ending you’ll unlock.
Ending C:
To earn Ending C, do nothing to stop Shion.
Simply allow him to catch you during the chase.
Once you’re caught, the game immediately transitions into Ending C.
Continue Escaping
If you’re aiming for Ending A or Ending B, avoid getting caught.
Keep running until you reach the Conductor’s Cabin.
Hide inside.
Pick Up the Fire Extinguisher
While inside the cabin, collect the Fire Extinguisher.
You’ll need it to defend yourself.
Knock Out Shion
Leave the cabin.
When Shion approaches, use the Fire Extinguisher to hit him.
After he falls, interact with his body to continue.
Final Choice
Open your inventory.
The last decision determines which ending you’ll receive.
Ending B:
Select the Knife from your inventory and use it on yourself.
Doing so immediately triggers Ending B.
Ending A:
Instead of the knife, select the Handkerchief from your inventory and use it on yourself.
This choice unlocks Ending A, completing the game’s main ending routes.
Part 4: How to Unlock Secret Ending Z
Unlike the standard endings, Ending Z requires several hidden interactions long before you reach the game’s finale. If you even miss one of these events, they can stop the ending to trigger, so follow each step carefully.
Spoiler Warning: This section contains major story spoilers and should only be read if you’re specifically trying to unlock Ending Z.
Interact with the Restroom Mirror
Return to the Restroom Area in the Second Carriage.
Examine the mirror a total of three times.
Check the Pie Recipe
Head to the Bar/Restaurant Area.
Look at the pie recipe placed on the counter.
After reading it, walk over to the computer and pick up the nearby Wine.
You’ll need this item for the next hidden event.
Let Haru Drink the Wine
Open your inventory and use the Wine.
Have Haru drink a small amount.
Talk to the Shadow
Return to the First Carriage and enter the Conductor’s Cabin.
Inside, interact with the mysterious Shadow.
During the conversation, the Shadow will ask you a question.
Choose the following answer:
Apple
Read the Recipe Again
Return to the Second Carriage and go upstairs.
Interact with the Pie Recipe once more.
A special scene will trigger where Haru and Shion prepare a pie together before sharing it.
Collect the Fourth Red Ticket
After the pie scene ends, head to the Electrical Room upstairs.
Search the room to collect your Fourth Red Ticket.
You should now have all four tickets required for the final area.
Talk to Shion Five Times
Later, after waking up in the First Carriage again, don’t move toward the exit.
Instead, speak with Shion during his random conversations until you’ve talked to him at least five times.
These optional conversations are another hidden requirement for Ending Z.
Visit the Third Carriage
Leave the First Carriage.
Shion will suggest visiting the Third Carriage.
Follow his suggestion and enter it.
Inside, interact with the Beach scene when it becomes available.
Watch the entire conversation before continuing.
Continue the Main Story
After completing all of the hidden Ending Z requirements above, continue following the same progression used for the normal ending route.
Repeat the steps below exactly as you did in Part 3:
- Open the Four Red Ticket Gate.
- Enter the only unlocked room.
- Read all of the papers.
- Talk to the Shadow.
- Answer “All of them are lies.”
- Receive the Key.
- Unlock the first door.
- Inspect the Knife Sharpener and explore the room.
- Leave the room.
- Cut open the Red Cocoon using the Knife.
- Walk through the passage and ride the Elevator.
- Inspect the Bag.
- Wake up inside the moving train.
Unlock Ending Z
If every hidden requirement has been completed correctly, the game will automatically branch away from the normal ending routes.
Instead of triggering Ending A, Ending B, or Ending C, you’ll unlock the secret Ending Z.
No additional choices are required once all of the prerequisites have been fulfilled.
Congratulations!
You’ve now unlocked every ending in Saihate Station:
- ✅ Ending A
- ✅ Ending B
- ✅ Ending C
- ✅ Secret Ending Z
This wraps up all the major story paths in the game. If you’re aiming for 100% completion, it’s also worth revisiting earlier areas to interact with optional objects and dialogue, as many of them reveal additional lore that isn’t required for any ending but adds more depth to the overall story.
