Deadlock has a chat wheel with different phrases that you can use to communicate with your team. You’ll see only some of these phrases in the normal settings menu, but you can add other phrases by using their Phrase IDs through the console.
The chat wheel has 8 slots, numbered from 0 to 7. Here is the full list of known chat wheel IDs from build 6731, along with the console command you need to use them.
How to Change Deadlock Chatwheel Phrases
First, open the console by pressing F7.
Use this command:
ping_wheel_phrase_<slot> <ID>The slot numbers start at 0 at the top of the wheel and continue clockwise until 7.
For example, to put “Going to farm” (ID 61) in slot 0, enter:
ping_wheel_phrase_0 61You can also check which phrase is currently assigned to a slot by entering the slot number without an ID.
For example:
ping_wheel_phrase_0The game saves your changes, so you don’t have to enter the commands every time you launch Deadlock.
Example Custom Chatwheel
You could set up your eight slots like this:
ping_wheel_phrase_0 109
ping_wheel_phrase_1 114
ping_wheel_phrase_2 66
ping_wheel_phrase_3 119
ping_wheel_phrase_4 158
ping_wheel_phrase_5 61
ping_wheel_phrase_6 116
ping_wheel_phrase_7 172This gives you phrases such as “Let’s attack here,” “I’m with you,” “Don’t overextend!,” “Watch out!,” “Wait,” “Going to farm,” “My Ultimate is ready,” and “Look here!”
You can restore the default wheel from the game’s settings if you want to undo your custom setup.

Invalid Deadlock Phrase IDs
Not every number in the sequence is a valid phrase ID.
According to the provided list, these IDs do not exist:
- 13–16
- 35–37
- Anything above 173
Using an invalid ID can crash the game, so don’t randomly test unused numbers.
The Purple lane IDs are also leftovers from the removed fourth lane. They remain in the list but are related to old content.
For most players, the useful way to customize the wheel is to pick the phrases you actually use and assign their IDs to slots 0–7 with the ping_wheel_phrase_<slot> <ID> command.
