Valve’s City Never Sleeps update changed the map in Deadlock, so you may need to check many of the old Graves tombstone spots again. You can still place Graves on building ledges, windows, trees, and other hard-to-reach surfaces so enemies can’t destroy them.
This guide covers the best Graves tombstone spots for both the Hidden King and Archmother across Greenwich, York, and Broadway. Some spots are easy to reach, while others need a double jump, dash jump, or extra ability range.
Here are the locations shown in the map screenshots, along with a few placement tips that help you find more spots on your own.
How to Place Graves in Deadlock
You don’t have to use the exact spots shown in the screenshots. Deadlock has plenty of building ledges, windows, and raised surfaces where you can place a Grave out of the enemy’s reach. Move your cursor over these spots and watch for the green placement indicator.
Keep these tips in mind when looking for a good spot:
- Check building ledges first: Look along the sides and tops of buildings. Many ledges let you place a Grave without needing a tricky jump.
- Use double jumps or dash jumps: Some spots are too high to reach with a normal jump. Get extra height or use a wall bounce to line up your placement.
- Use Greater Expansion when needed: Some elevated spots are easier to reach with extra placement range. Arcane Surge can also help you get into position.
- Look for cover: Tree branches, windows, and building corners can hide your Grave from enemies looking along the lane.
- Check the final position: A Grave may appear inside a wall or outside the surface for a moment before moving into place. Wait and check where it actually lands before leaving it there.
In simple words, the best spots are the ones that force enemies to take a longer route or use movement abilities to reach your Grave. Even a small ledge can work if enemies can’t get to it easily.

You don’t have to use only the spots listed above to place your Graves. Look around nearby buildings, trees, windows, and other objects for additional places to hide them. Many ledges can work, so try different angles and see where you can place a Grave out of the enemy’s easy reach.
Your main goal is to make enemies waste time reaching your Grave. A spot that forces them to use movement abilities or approach from an awkward angle can be more useful than one that is easy to see and reach.
Before using any spot in a match, check that the Grave settles on the intended surface and that enemies cannot reach it with a simple jump.
