Ticket Furnace is one of the trickier challenges in Scritchy Scratchy because you’ll run out of money before you can purchase the Bomb tickets. I kept getting stuck at Snake Eyes until I started using Scratch My Back (Turtle) to generate more cash.
Once you make some good money with the Turtle card and find a profitable Bomb card, you can work toward Bank Break and switch to Xmas Countdown to finish Challenge 9.
Make sure you don’t waste your money on upgrading the Snake Eyes early on. If you do so, then you’ll not have enough money when you need it to buy Bomb tickets. Focus on Turtle combos first, keep profitable Bomb cards, and buy the important Scratch Bot and Mundo upgrades before moving to the next stage.
How to Complete Ticket Furnace in Scritchy Scratchy?
1. Start Your Run Without Buying Gadgets
Start the run as usual and spend your money wisely. Remember that you’ll need enough cash to upgrade your cards and progress through the challenge.
- Collect your tickets and use the highest card available in the catalog.
- Buy useful upgrades only when you can afford them.
- Don’t buy gadgets at the start. Save your money for the cards you need.
- When you’re about to level up, use your highest available card in the furnace instead of spending money on a more expensive card just for the level-up.
Your main goal at this point is to reach Scratch My Back and start earning enough money to keep the run going.
2. Focus on Scratch My Back (Turtle)
Once you unlock Scratch My Back, start upgrading it and aim for as many combos as possible. The Turtle card will be your main source of money during the early part of the challenge.
Don’t spend your money upgrading Snake Eyes when it unlocks. It will take too much of your investment, and you can end up with no money left to buy Bomb tickets.
Follow these steps:
- Upgrade Scratch My Back whenever you can afford it.
- Aim for good combos to increase your earnings.
- If you get a poor combo, burn the card and try again.
- Ignore Snake Eyes upgrades. Use Snake Eyes only in the furnace when needed.
Keep using the Turtle until you have enough money to work with Bomb cards. You can return to it later if your cash runs low.
3. Get Through the Bomb Section
The Bomb section is where you have to manage your cash wisely. Buy Bomb cards and check whether their results can make a profit.
- Keep good results: If the card gives you a profitable combination, use it to earn more money.
- Burn bad results: If you get a poor result, such as two red wires, put the card in the furnace and try another.
- Return to Turtle when you’re broke: Earn money with Scratch My Back before buying another Bomb card.
- Watch out for the Jellyfish during this stage.
Repeat this process until Bomb cards have given you enough money that you no longer need Turtle as your main money source.
Upgrade Scratch Luck if Bomb cards keep failing
Bad luck with Bomb cards can slow your progress and empty your money. If you keep getting poor results, think about upgrading the Scratch Luck.
In my run, upgrading Scratch Luck at around 244B led to much better card results and more success with Bombs. Your results may vary, but this upgrade is worth considering if the Bomb section is holding you back.
4. Buy Scratch Bot and Mundo Upgrades Before Leveling Up
Before moving to the next stage, make sure you have enough money to purchase the upgrades you’ll need later. Don’t rush the level-up while you’re still missing important upgrades.
Purchase these upgrades:
- Scratch Bot: Buy it and get upgrades such as Scratch Speedy and Scratch Strength.
- Mundo: Purchase Mundo and improve his speed.
- Scratch Bot capacity: Increase its capacity to support your setup.
You don’t have to buy every upgrade immediately. Prioritize the useful ones and keep enough money available to continue progressing.
5. Find a Profitable Bank Break
When you’re about to level up, put a Bomb ticket into the furnace to reset the fire and advance to the next stage.
Continue using Bomb cards to look for Bank Break. Keep a profitable Bank Break card, but burn it if the result doesn’t make enough money.
During this stage, start improving your income and support setup:
- Buy Subscription Bot.
- Upgrade your fan.
- Increase Scratch Bot capacity if needed.
- Purchase other useful gadgets when you can afford them.
Once you get a profitable Bank Break, set Subscription Bot to Bank Break to generate additional income. Keep building your money until you unlock Xmas Countdown.
6. Switch to Xmas Countdown for Your Main Income
After unlocking Xmas Countdown, use it as your main money-making card. Change Subscription Bot from Bank Break to Xmas Countdown so it can help generate more income.
From here, focus on maintaining a steady supply of Xmas Countdown cards.
- Keep buying Xmas Countdown cards with the money you earn.
- Keep feeding cards into the furnace to progress.
- Purchase any remaining Scratch Bot and Mundo upgrades.
- Get enough Scratch Bot capacity and finish any important upgrades you skipped earlier.
- Keep the furnace running and use your extra money for the upgrades you still need.
Don’t use the Thrift Store. Stick only with Xmas Countdown as your final money-making card. Keep buying cards, running the furnace, and spending your extra cash on remaining upgrades until you complete Ticket Furnace (Challenge 9).
