Shift At Midnight achievements don’t take hundreds of hours to finish. But a few of them can be missed if you don’t know how to trigger them. Some achievements unlock during normal gameplay, while others depend on specific choices, enemy kills, or buying every weapon.
I’ve created this Shift At Midnight walkthrough that covers every Steam achievement and explains the easiest way to unlock all of them. I have also pointed out the few that need extra planning. Follow the achievements below in any order that fits your playthrough.
Shift At Midnight Basic Achievements
First Blood

Requirement: Kill your first customer.
This achievement unlocks when you kill a customer for the first time. It does not matter if the customer is a real person or a doppelganger. Your first kill always unlocks it.
Still Breathing

Requirement: Survive your first Hunt.
You earn this achievement after surviving your first Hunt. Two situations can trigger it:
- Complete the transaction of a doppelganger during your shift and survive the Hunt.
- Stay alive until the first Blood Moon if you have not triggered a Hunt earlier.
Locked And Loaded

Requirement: Buy every weapon and complete the weapon arsenal.
You must purchase every weapon available in the store.
Buy all melee weapons:
- Brick
- Baseball Bat
- Sledgehammer
Then purchase every ranged weapon:
- SMGs
- Shotguns
- Flamethrowers
The pistol does not need to be purchased because you already own it from the beginning.
Enemy Kill Achievements
Silenced

Requirement: Kill a Shrieking Doll.
Shrieking Dolls are the small crawling, baby-like enemies that spawn during Hunts alongside the main entity.
Kill one of them once, and the achievement will unlock immediately.
Freed

Requirement: Kill a Demented.
The Demented behaves like a classic “weeping angel.” It only moves when you are not looking at it.
The easiest method to kill it:
- Place a Bear Trap in its path.
- Look away so it starts moving.
- Make it walk into the trap.
- Kill it to unlock the achievement.
Last Performance

Requirement: Kill a Marionette.
Marionettes first appear from Shift 9 onward.
These enemies pop out like jack-in-the-box toys. They become dangerous if you ignore them and don’t wind their box in time.
Kill one Marionette during a Hunt to earn the achievement.
Relentless

Requirement: Finish a Hunt within 30 seconds.
This is much easier on a new save.
Start a new game, then let the first doppelganger enter your store during the opening shift. Prepare yourself before the Hunt begins by placing Bear Traps and keeping your guns ready.
Deal as much damage as possible when the Hunt starts. Quick weapon swaps and good trap placement can finish the hunt within 30 seconds.
Ending Achievements
Empty Home

Requirement: Let your pet die in exchange for Clyde’s life.
You can unlock this ending by choosing not to call Clyde after Shift 12. You choise can keep Clyde alive, but you must also not save enough money for your pet’s final surgery.
At the end of Shift 13, if you have less than $250, you cannot pay for the surgery. Your pet will die, Clyde will survive, and the Empty Home achievement will unlock.
Grave Decision

Requirement: Sacrifice Clyde to save your pet.
After Shift 12, choose to call Clyde. This decision sacrifices Clyde but saves your pet. Once done, the Grave Decision achievement will unlock.
True Ending

Requirement: Keep both your pet and Clyde alive.
This is the best ending in the Shift At Midnight game.
After Shift 12, choose not to call Clyde so he stays alive. Then make sure you have at least $250 saved before Shift 13 ends. You will pay for your pet’s final surgery, keep both characters alive, and unlock the True Ending achievement.
Best Ways to Earn More Money in Shift at Midnight
Money is very important for buying weapons, upgrades, and paying for your dog’s surgery bills. The store has several small income sources that add up over multiple nights.
Clean Every Mess
Cleaning is one of the easiest ways to earn extra cash.
You receive:
- $0.10 for every stain you clean.
- $0.10 for every piece of trash or severed limb you throw into the dumpster.
It may not seem like much at first, but cleaning everything after every shift builds a steady income.
Catch Rats Instead of Killing Them
Rats provide more money when you dispose of them correctly.
- Pick up a live rat and throw it into the dumpster to earn $3.00.
- Killing the rat only leaves a body part that gives $0.10 when discarded.
Always throw live rats into the dumpster if you want the highest payout.
Squash Cockroaches
Cockroaches give you two chances to earn money.
Hit one with your mop to receive $0.10. The dead bug also leaves a stain behind, and cleaning that stain rewards another $0.10.
Each cockroach is worth $0.20 in total.
Spend Tokens on the Prize Wheel
Search the store every night for tokens. They are scattered everywhere in the store.
You can spend five tokens to spin the prize wheel. A lucky spin rewards $10.00 in store revenue.
The prize wheel also becomes more valuable after you unlock every hat. Hat rewards disappear from the pool, and any spin that lands on a hat refunds all five tokens instead of wasting them.
That makes it much easier to keep spinning until you land on better rewards.
Final Thoughts
That wraps up every Steam achievement in Shift At Midnight. You can unlock most of them naturally as you play, but the ending achievements and a few enemy kills require additional steps. Make sure to save enough money before the final shift to unlock the True Ending.
