Garden In! Achievement

Garden In! Complete Achievement Guide (100% Walkthrough)

Looking to unlock every achievement in Garden In!? You’ve come to the right place. This complete 100% walkthrough guide will teach you everything you need, from your first plant ever to the final Perfectionist achievement.

This guide is not limited to a list of achievements. You will also learn the quickest way to unlock achievements, find all ground, air, and water plants, finish all research projects, and avoid common mistakes that can slow your progress.

Early Game Achievements

These achievements are either automatic, or need simple actions taken while learning the game mechanics.

Time for Renovations

Requirement: Change a room’s color palette.

This is usually one of the first achievements you’ll unlock.

Open the room customization menu by selecting the paint palette icon. Choose any available color theme, confirm your selection, and the achievement will unlock immediately.

Tip: It doesn’t matter about color so choose your favorite.

Taking Notes

Requirement: Open the Herbarium.

The Herbarium keeps track of all the plants you’ve discovered.

Simply open the brown book labeled HERBARIUM from the game’s interface. Once it opens for the first time, you’ll receive the achievement.

If it doesn’t unlock immediately, close the menu and try opening it again after making a little more progress.

The Mendel Experiment

Requirement: Place two seeds inside a Hybridization Vase.

Purchase or place a Hybridization Vase, then insert two compatible seeds into it.

You don’t have to wait for the hybrid to mature. The achievement is unlocked as soon as you plant both seeds together.

Dry No More

Requirement: Water a dry plant.

Plants can slowly dry out if they aren’t watered.

Wait until one of your plants looks dry, then water it normally. As soon as the plant receives water, the achievement will unlock.

Who’s a Good Plant?

Requirement: Pet a plant that needs affection.

Sometimes a plant will ask for attention by showing a floating heart icon.

When the heart effect appears, interact with the plant and pet it

Leave My Baby Alone

Requirement: Remove insects from an infested plant.

From time to time, bugs will appear around your plants.

You will see little black bugs flying around the infected plant. Spray the disinfectant to kill them.

Once the infestation is cleared, you’ll earn the achievement.

A Greener Day

Requirement: Grow your first plant.

This achievement comes naturally.

Simply plant a seed, water it, nurture it, keep it healthy, and wait for it to reach full maturity.

Research Complete

Requirement: Finish your first research project.

Research unlocks new content throughout the game.

Choose a research task and wait for it to be completed. This achievement is awarded for completing any research project.

Tip: Try to keep research running at all times. You will need lots of research points later.

Seed of Love

Requirement: Unlock a new seed.

Continue progressing through research and gameplay until a new seed becomes available.

Room Revealer

Requirement: Unlock a new room.

Once you make enough progress, you’ll unlock a new area, usually the Balcony first.

This achievement is unlocked for every extra room unlocked immediately.

The new rooms also offer more space to grow plants and complete future achievements.

Let’s Go for a Walk

Requirement: Move a plant to another room.

Pick up any plant and drag it toward the room transition arrow on the floor.

Keep holding the plant until the game switches to the next room, then place it down.

To unlock the achievement, you only need to transfer one plant from room to room.

A Sad Moment

Requirement: Throw away a plant.

Drag any unwanted plant into the trash bin.

Once it’s deleted, you’ll unlock this achievement.

Instead of deleting a healthy plant, it is better to use a plant that is already dry or infested, so that you can combine multiple achievements efficiently.

Weeds Have Feelings Too

Requirement: Delete a dry plant.

Let a plant of yours dry out completely.

When it dries, pull it into the trash bin.

This achievement can be completed alongside A Sad Moment.

Food for Insects

Requirement: Delete an infested plant.

Wait until insects show up on one of your plants.

Instead of cleaning it, throw the infected plant into the trash.

Note: It’s usually easier to complete this separately from the dry plant achievement.

#NewFilter

Requirement: Unlock a camera filter.

Keep doing research in the Main Room until you get enough research points to unlock your first camera filter.

This normally becomes available after reaching 400 Research Points.

Keep your research station active whenever possible to reach this milestone faster.

Say Cheese!

Requirement: Take your first photo.

Open the Decorations menu and place a camera anywhere inside one of your rooms.

Interact with the camera and capture a picture.

Budding Scientist

Requirement: Unlock 10 different seeds.

Continue your research and build your plant collection.

As you unlock more seeds this will pop naturally until you have unlocked a total of 10 seed types.

If you are always doing research, then there is no need to grind specifically for it.

Mid-Game Achievements

Lab-Room

Requirement: Place 10 Hybridization Vases inside the Laboratory.

Once the Laboratory (Greenhouse) becomes available, place a total of 10 Hybridization Vases inside it.

You have two options:

  • Craft or buy new Hybridization Vases directly in the Laboratory.
  • Move existing vases from other rooms.

Both methods count toward the achievement.

Guidexon Tip: Keep the Laboratory dedicated to hybrid breeding. Having all your Hybridization Vases together makes it much easier to find new plants and complete future collection accomplishments.

The Best One

Requirement: Place 30 copies of the same plant in one room.

Choose any plant you already have and fill a single room with copies of it.

You can complete this in two different ways:

  • Place 30 fully grown single-pot plants, or
  • Place 15 fully grown hybrid pots, since each hybrid pot contains two plants.

The achievement unlocks as soon as the room contains enough identical plants.

Fast Strategy

Don’t worry about picking a rare species. Just clone one of your easiest plants until you have enough.

If another room is already full, put the plants in one place instead of growing everything from the ground up.

Landlord

Requirement: Unlock every room.

The more research you do , the further you get in the game and eventually you unlock all the rooms that are available .

There’s no trick here, just keep doing research and spend your resources as soon as you unlock new areas.

Once the final room opens, the achievement unlocks automatically.

Mid-Game Preparation Tips

This is the perfect time to prepare for the late-game grind. A bit of organization now will save you hours later.

Keep Every Room Organized

Instead of placing plants randomly, give each room a specific purpose.

A simple setup works well:

  • Main Room: Research tasks and everyday management.
  • Laboratory: Hybrid breeding only.
  • Balcony: Grow newly discovered species.
  • Garden: Large-scale farming for quantity-based achievements.

When everything is organized it’s much easier to follow your progress.

Never Leave Research Idle

Research is the biggest source of progression in Garden In!.

Finish one project, and then start another immediately.

Even if you’re not actively pursuing achievements, continued research will open up:

  • New seeds
  • New flower pots
  • Camera filters
  • Additional rooms
  • Plant categories

By the time you reach the endgame, you’ll be glad you never stopped researching.

Continue Unlocking New Hybrids

Don’t stick with the same plants for too long.

Every successful hybrid you breed gets you closer to completing the full collection in the game which is needed for several achievements that occur later in the game.

If you don’t know what to grow next, try something you haven’t grown before.

Save Space for Collection Achievements

Later achievements require:

  • Growing dozens of plants in one room.
  • Collecting many different plant species.
  • Caring for hundreds of plants.

Avoid filling every room with decorations.

If you leave a bit of extra space now, those achievements will be much easier to complete later.

Late Game Achievements

Balcony Optimizer

Requirement: Have 50 fully grown plants in the Balcony.

Your Balcony needs a total of 50 mature plants.

You can reach this goal in two ways:

  • Grow plants directly in the Balcony.
  • Move fully grown plants from other rooms.

Moving plants is an option, but it is much more efficient to just use the Balcony as your collection room. It lets you work on another achievement at the same time.

Guidexon Tip: Instead of just filling the Balcony with random duplicates, try to grow as many different species as you can. That will be helpful to Master Gardener also.

Master Gardener

Requirement: Grow 36 different plant species in the same room.

This is one of the most important collection achievements.

Pick one room, preferably the Balcony, and keep adding new species until you have at least 36 different plants growing in there.

Newer versions of the game have over 36 species, but you only need 36 different species for the achievement.

Recommended Strategy:

Every time you unlock a new plant, move it into your Balcony instead of leaving it elsewhere.

Once you have 50 plants in the room you’ll likely get both achievements at once.

Water Water Water

Requirement: Water 500 dry plants.

This achievement is usually done naturally during the course of normal gameplay.

If your progress is still low, let several plants dry out and then water them all at once.

The more plants you have, the faster you’ll achieve this.

Spray Spray Spray

Requirement: Remove insects from 500 infested plants.

Eventually you will start to see bugs in your larger collection.

As soon as you spot the small black bugs on a plant, spray it with the disinfectant.

Each successful treatment counts towards the achievement, so just keep curing infestations as they spawn.

Pet Pet Pet

Requirement: Pet 500 plants that need affection.

Plants occasionally display a floating heart icon when they want attention.

Whenever you see this symbol, interact with the plant to pet it.

Pottery Connoisseur

Requirement: Unlock every vase.

New vases become available through research progression.

Just keep doing research projects until all the vases are unlocked.

If you’ve been actively doing research while playing the game this achievement should come naturally before you get to the end.

Hands in the Dirt

Requirement: Unlock every Ground Plant.

To earn this achievement, you must discover every plant in the Ground category.

Hybridization Tips

Don’t Throw Away Earlier Hybrids

Many advanced recipes reuse plants you’ve already created.

Instead of throwing them away to save space, take them to another room until you know you don’t need them anymore.

Label Your Workspace

If your Laboratory gets crowded, arrange the plants in progression.

For example:

  • Basic hybrids on one side.
  • Mid-tier hybrids in the center.
  • End-game hybrids together.

Verify Ingredients Carefully

Some recipes use plants with similar names so you can make mistakes easily.

Make sure you have selected the correct species before adding ingredients to a hybridization vase.

Achievement Complete

Once every Ground Plant has been discovered, Hands in the Dirt will unlock automatically.

If it doesn’t show up right away, wait a few seconds or re-open your Herbarium to make sure you’ve registered all of the Ground Plants.

Love and Science

Requirement: Complete every research project.

This is the last major progression achievement for most players.

There are no tricks, no special shortcuts – you just have to finish all the research projects available until the entire research tree is complete.

How to Finish Research Faster

Never leave a research station empty. Every minute without an active project slows down your overall progress.

If you have several projects to work on, do the easy ones first. This will allow you to earn research points in a more consistent manner and unlock more projects sooner.

Continue to water, remove insects and love your plants while you wait for the research to be completed. This enables you to work on several achievements at the same time.

By now, you’ll probably own dozens of plants spread across several rooms.

Perfectionist

Requirement: Unlock every achievement.

Perfectionist is awarded automatically when all other achievements are unlocked.

If it doesn’t appear right away, check your list of achievements to see if you missed a little goal.

The most commonly missed achievements are usually the following:

  • Taking your first photo.
  • Unlocking every vase.
  • Growing 36 different species in one room.
  • Caring for enough plants (watering, petting, or disinfecting).
  • Completing every research project.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I move plants between rooms for achievements?

Yes. Most of the location-based achievements allow you to transplant fully-grown plants between rooms instead of growing them in place.

Do hybrid plants count toward plant collection achievements?

Yes. Hybrid plants count as valid plants and are required for completing the full collection.

What’s the fastest way to earn the 500 care achievements?

Fill your Garden with as many plants as possible.

The more you collect, the more you have to dry, infest or care for in the end, so you can work on all three achievements simultaneously.

Which room should I use for collecting different species?

The Balcony is usually the best choice since you’ll also be working toward the achievement that requires 50 fully grown plants in that room.

Final Thoughts

Garden In! is a relaxing plant-growing game, but to get every achievement you will need patience and good organization. The difficult part is just gathering a huge collection. Researching all the projects and finding all the hybrid plants. Not the difficult gameplay.

Keep your research active, keep your rooms organized and don’t delete useful hybrids too early and you will unlock almost every achievement naturally on the way.

Hopefully this walkthrough helped you save time and avoid some unnecessary grinding. Enjoy getting the last Perfectionist achievement and good luck in completing your collection!
