Graveyard Keeper 2 is all about crafting, building, farming, automation, and managing your graveyard. As you progress, you unlock new technologies that let you place more workstations and upgrades around your different work areas.
The problem is that unlocking a workstation does not mean you can use it right away. You still have to build it, and that means you need to collect the required materials first. Some stations also need extensions before they can handle certain recipes.
That can become a pain when you’re standing at a building desk and realize you’re missing a few Wooden Planks, Bronze Nails, Pieces of Stone, or Iron Details. Instead of going back and forth to the tech tree, you can use the list below to check the materials before you start gathering.
I’ve sorted the Graveyard Keeper 2 workstation materials by location, so you can quickly find what you need for the Yard, Home, Church, Graveyard, Garden, Vineyard, Factory, and other areas.
Note: Some entries are still marked as unknown or unconfirmed. The game has a lot of progression-gated content, and not every workstation or repair is available at the same point in the game. I have kept those entries separate instead of guessing the missing costs.
How Workstations and Materials Work in Graveyard Keeper 2
Workstations are more than just places where you craft items. They are part of the progression system.
A technology can unlock a workstation, a recipe, or an extension. After unlocking it, you may still need to build the station at the correct area’s building desk and meet the requirements for the recipe you want to use.
For example, the Woodworking Workbench I costs 8 Boards and 4 Bronze Nails to build. Once you have it, you can use it for several woodworking recipes, including turning Boards into Wooden Planks.
So it is worth keeping some basic materials stocked instead of collecting them only when a new blueprint appears.
Basic Materials You Will Use Often
Early construction requires these materials:

For later stations, you’ll need additional items such as Iron Details, Polished Bronze, Advanced Details, Steel Ingots, Steel Details, Polished Marble, and other processed materials.
For example, the Kiln needs 4 pieces of Stone, 5 Clay, and 5 Water, while the Furnace I needs 6 pieces of Stone and 12 Brick.
