Moonlight Peaks Museum Guide

Moonlight Peaks Museum Guide: All Donations & Item Locations

The Museum is one of the biggest side activities in Moonlight Peaks. Instead of selling everything you collect, many fish, critters, crops, artifacts, furniture, and cooked dishes belong in the museum’s collections.

Some donations are easy to replace, while others only appear under specific weather, seasons, or even certain times of day. Missing one rare item can delay your museum progress for several in-game weeks.

This Moonlight Peaks Museum guide includes everything you need to complete the Moonlight Peaks Museum without jumping between multiple pages. You’ll find:

  • Every museum collection and donation.
  • Fish locations, rarity, weather, and rod requirements.
  • Critter spawn locations and seasons.
  • Farming collection requirements.
  • Recipes for cooked donations.
  • Artifact and furniture locations.
  • Community-discovered spawn information.
  • Museum tips and frequently asked questions.

We’ll continue updating this guide as new information becomes available and more players verify hidden item locations.

If you’re just getting started, check out our Moonlight Peaks beginner tips guide before working on the Museum. It covers useful mechanics, money-making methods, and early-game mistakes that can slow your progress.

How to Unlock the Museum?

You won’t get access to the Museum right away. The Museum opens through Jada’s questline, so you’ll need to progress through the main story before you can start donating items.

The process happens in two main quests.

Step 1: Help Jada Build the Scooter Museum

First, keep playing until Persephone, Jada, and Winston move into the abandoned house on the pier. For most players, this happens around Fall of Year 1, although the exact timing depends on your story progress.

After Jada arrives, talk to her regularly and give her gifts to increase your friendship. She’ll eventually discover an old scooter and decide to turn it into a small supernatural museum.

To complete this quest, collect four artifacts from the leaders of the supernatural families:

  • Brook (Saga handles this request)
  • Dragan
  • Fiona
  • Orlock

Each character asks you to complete a small favor before handing over their artifact. Once you’ve collected all four, return them to Jada to finish the Scooter Museum.

Step 2: Open the Main Museum

After finishing the first quest and progressing Jada’s friendship, she’ll decide to create a much larger museum.

This quest takes place at the abandoned building east of Town Hall.

Your objectives include:

  • Help clean the park.
  • Decorate the museum area.
  • Invite townsfolk to the grand opening.

Don’t worry if most villagers decline your invitation. That’s part of the event and doesn’t prevent the quest from progressing.

After the grand opening cutscene ends, the Museum officially opens, and you can start donating items.

Every room has its own donation board. Simply interact with the ! sign and choose the required item from your inventory.

The museum currently includes these collections:

CollectionRequired Donations
Supernatural RoomWitch, Vampire, Seer, Werewolf, Mermaid
Deity RoomFour deity artifacts
Farming RoomEvery 2-Star crop
AquariumEvery fish
Critter RoomEvery critter

How to Donate Items?

Once you’ve unlocked the Museum, it takes a few seconds to donate items.

  1. Enter the Museum.
  2. Walk through the magical portal.
  3. Select the collection room.
  4. Interact with the ! donation sign.
  5. Choose the required item from your inventory.

Remember these requirements before donating:

  • The Farming Collection only accepts 2-Star crops.
  • Cooked dishes marked 2-Star must also be crafted at 2-Star quality.
  • Some furniture decorations only work with specific material or color variants. If one version isn’t accepted, craft another variant and try again.

Tip: Keep at least one copy of every rare item until you’ve checked whether the Museum needs it. Many players accidentally sell an artifact or rare fish and later spend several in-game days searching for another one.

Moonlight Peaks Aquarium Collection

The Aquarium requires you to donate every fish in Moonlight Peaks. While some fish appear almost anywhere, others only spawn during specific weather, seasons, or time windows.

If you’re trying to finish the Museum quickly, upgrade to a Premium or Enchanted Fishing Rod as soon as possible. Several rare fish cannot be caught reliably with the basic rod.

Community Note: Several players report that Furybud is much easier to catch with an upgraded fishing rod, even though the collection data lists it under “Any Fishing Rod.” If you’re struggling to find it, switch to a Premium or Enchanted Rod.

Aquarium Tips

If you’re missing only a few fish, check these special spawn conditions first:

  • Daybreaker only appears between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM.
  • Twilight only appears between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM.
  • Moonflutter only spawns during a Full Moon.
  • Mouthout requires Rain.
  • Fortipod only appears in Winter.
  • Goliath is one of the rarest fish in the game, so bring a Premium or Enchanted Fishing Rod.
  • Missing is a Very Rare fish that can appear in multiple locations, so don’t stay in just one fishing spot.

Moonlight Peaks Critter Collection

The Critter Collection is one of the longest museum collections in Moonlight Peaks. Unlike fish, many critters only appear during specific seasons, weather, or in hidden locations. A few even spawn after performing certain actions, such as harvesting crops, breaking rocks, or cutting grass.

If you’re trying to complete the Museum as early as possible, avoid selling your first copy of every critter you catch. Several players didn’t realize the Museum required them until much later in the game.

Community Discoveries:

Several rare critters still don’t have confirmed spawn conditions, but the community has already verified a few useful discoveries:

  • Moon Glimmer appears in Lost Moon Alcove, which unlocks later in the main story.
  • Violet Duster can occasionally appear after teleporting between Witch Circles.
  • Peeky hides behind objects on your farm and can be easy to miss.
  • Turdy spawns when your barn’s fertilizer pit becomes full.
  • Yabberwing has been spotted in Misty Slopes, with one player reporting a 3:00 AM spawn.
  • If you’re searching for butterflies, don’t ignore tall grass. Many species can appear immediately after cutting it.

Farming Collection

The Farming Collection requires every crop to be 2-Star quality before the Museum accepts it. A normal-quality crop won’t count toward your collection, even if it’s the correct item.

The collection includes regular crops, magical crops, mushrooms, herbs, fruit trees, and a few special consumables.

Tip: Store one 2-Star copy of every crop in a chest until you’ve donated it. Many players accidentally sell perfect-quality crops before unlocking the Museum.

Farming Collection Tips

Before moving on to another Museum collection, remember these requirements:

  • Every Farming Collection donation must be 2-Star quality.
  • Herb resources have their own growing times inside the Herb Garden.
  • Fruit Trees only produce fruit after reaching maturity.
  • A few entries in the current source, such as Henbane, Suffrain, Purple Lavender, Red Lavender, and Muse Nut, still have incomplete information. We’ll update this guide once their missing details are confirmed.

Supernatural Room

The Supernatural Room contains five separate collections: Witch, Vampire, Seer, Werewolf, and Mermaid. Unlike the Farming or Aquarium collections, these donations come from different activities such as digging, mining, crafting, cooking, foraging, and building decorations.

Many artifacts can only be obtained once, so avoid selling them before donating them to the Museum.

Witch Collection

The Witch Collection includes artifacts, a farm helper, and a cooked dish.

Final Thoughts

The Museum is one of the largest collection challenges in Moonlight Peaks. Completing every room takes time because many donations depend on seasons, weather, recipes, friendship rewards, and rare artifact drops.

Instead of searching for each collection separately, use this guide as your complete Moonlight Peaks Museum database. We’ll continue updating it whenever new item locations, recipes, or community discoveries are confirmed.
