You start the Scritchy Scratchy game by washing dishes, but soon you get access to scratch tickets. They give you a good amount of money compared to your normal dishwashing job. You’ll spend most of your gameplay buying scratch tickets, winning money, and upgrading your setup. However, the game gets harder when you unlock new catalogues, and the later stages & challenges require good preparation.
This guide covers the main Scritchy Scratchy mechanics, like how everything works in this game, Prestige upgrades, all three endings, and strategies for the nine challenges.
Scritchy Scratchy Basics and Progression
You start the game by washing dishes. At level 1, you get $1 for washing a plate. But when you unlock the scratch ticket catalogue, you can purchase them and collect whatever rewards they give you.
Just like in real life, not every ticket will give you profit. Some tickets, such as Apple Tree, can give you negative money when you scratch certain symbols. So pay attention to the symbols instead of scratching every ticket from start to finish.

How to Make Money Early
- Scratch a small part of a ticket first to check its symbols.
- Stop scratching if you spot a symbol that could cost you money.
- Focus on tickets that give better rewards.
- Buy the Trash Can for $2 to throw away negative tickets.
- Upgrade your Scratch Luck before spending too much money on expensive tickets.
As you earn more, you unlock better tickets, upgrades, and gadgets. These help you earn money faster and reduce the amount of manual work.
Upgrades Explained
The Upgrades menu has three main upgrades that improve your progress.
- Scratch Luck: Costs $200 and improves your chances of finding valuable symbols and reduces the chances of getting losing or neutral symbols. Each ticket has a maximum Luck level, so upgrading beyond its cap will not improve your odds on that ticket.
- Scratch Size: Costs $500 B and increases your manual scratching speed.
- Coin: Costs $500 T and improves your ability to scratch more expensive tickets.
Try to upgrade the Scratch Luck when you are struggling to make money from a new ticket. However, check the ticket’s Luck cap before spending too much on it.
All Gadgets and What They Do
Gadgets automate different parts of the game. Some scratch tickets, others buy or collect them, and a few provide special bonuses.
| Gadget | Cost or purpose |
|---|---|
| Trash Can | Costs $2 and lets you throw away losing tickets. Upgrading it allows Mundo to use it too. |
| Sticky Mat | Costs $50K. Keeps tickets placed on it away from the Fan and Scratch Bot. |
| Badge Collection | Costs $50M. Lets you collect points from achievements and spend them on cosmetics. |
| Scratch Bot | Scratches tickets automatically. You can upgrade its speed, capacity, and strength. |
| Fan | Feeds purchased tickets into the Scratch Bot. You must turn it on, and its battery eventually runs out. |
| Mundo | Collects scratched tickets. You can upgrade its speed and use JP to unlock Picky Eater, which makes Mundo throw away losing tickets. |
| Spell Book | Uses a charge to scratch a ticket or Super Jackpot instantly. It recharges over time, and you can improve its charging speed. |
| Subscription Bot | Automatically buys your selected tickets. Upgrading it increases its buying speed. |
| Egg Timer | Speeds up your other gadgets. You must recharge it manually, and upgrades improve its capacity, charge, and warp speed. |
| The Machine | Costs $1,000 to unlock after opening all four catalogues. It converts money into souls and increases the multiplier for claimed prizes. You need it to reach the endings. |
Which Gadgets Should You Upgrade First?
The Scratch Bot, Fan, and Mundo are very helpful for automating normal gameplay. The Egg Timer can also help you later because it speeds up your entire setup.
Make sure to unlock Picky Eater before using Mundo for long runs. Without it, Mundo can collect losing tickets and cost you money.
The Sticky Mat also helps when you want to keep one ticket away from the automatic system. This is very useful in challenges where you need to control which tickets get scratched or merged.
Catalogues, Prestige, and Final Chance
The game has four catalogues. Each one introduces new tickets and helps you move toward the final stages.
First and Second Catalogues
When you finish the first catalogue, you receive a Final Chance ticket. When you scratch it, it kills you and ends the run.
You can then spend your JP on permanent Prestige upgrades. These upgrades carry over to your next run and make future progress easier.
The second catalogue ends with another Final Chance. You can also Prestige before reaching this point if you would rather spend your JP on permanent upgrades first.
Important: Jackpots and Super Jackpots award JP, but each ticket type only awards it once per run. You can earn JP from that same ticket type again in a new run. Higher-catalogue tickets give more JP.
The Machine and the Final Chance
After unlocking all four catalogues, you gain access to The Machine. You can give it money to produce souls, which you will need during the final part of the game.
Before starting the final stage, prepare your setup:
- Upgrade Scratch Luck to the maximum useful level.
- Save at least 200–250 souls.
- Keep enough money to buy around 200–250 Final Chance tickets.
The Scratch Bot can scratch the Final Chance tickets, but Mundo cannot claim them safely. Each claim costs one soul until you win, so running out of souls can ruin your attempt.
Once you win the ticket, you have two choices.
- Claim the ticket yourself: Unlocks the True Ending.
- Wait around 5–10 minutes: The Evil Corporation will take the ticket, unlocking the alternative ending.
You need both endings for 100% completion.

All Three Scritchy Scratchy Endings
Scritchy Scratchy has three endings.
1. True Ending
Unlock all four catalogues and use The Machine to create enough souls. Reach the final Final Chance with a strong Scratch Luck level and plenty of money.
When you win the Final Chance ticket, claim it yourself to trigger the True Ending.
2. Alternative Ending
Follow the same steps as the True Ending. After winning the Final Chance ticket, do not claim it.
Wait approximately 5–10 minutes for the Evil Corporation to take it. This will trigger the alternative ending.
3. Secret Ending – No More Gambling
The No More Gambling achievement requires additional progress after completing every challenge.
- Complete all challenges in the game.
- Start a new normal run and progress toward the end.
- Meet the requirements for the secret catalogue. A phone call introduces it when you reach the required stage and money threshold.
- Unlock all three tickets in the secret catalogue.
- Get a Jackpot on each of the three tickets.
- Get a Jackpot on the final ticket until the map showing only Claim appears.
- Take the phone call, then complete the Final Chance sequence as required for the True Ending.
- Claim the ticket and scratch the items that appear afterward.
This will unlock the secret ending and the No More Gambling achievement.

All Scritchy Scratchy Challenges and Strategies
The challenge update has added three achievements:
- Challenge Apprentice: Complete one challenge.
- Challenge Novice: Complete five challenges.
- Challenge Master: Complete every challenge.
There are nine challenges that you need to complete. For each challenge, the rules change, so the same strategy will not always work for all of them.
1. Student Loans
Goal: Earn $50K while dealing with three loans.
You will start without permanent upgrades or skills. The loans will make the tickets more expensive, reduce rewards by 30%, and give you a one-in-five chance of receiving a cheaper ticket than the one you purchased or getting a plate.
You also cannot use the Trash Can, even if you buy it.
- Start with cheaper tickets and check their symbols first.
- Upgrade Scratch Luck as soon as you can afford it.
- Don’t scratch risky tickets such as Apple Tree.
- Keep enough money to buy two or three tickets from your previous tier before trying a more expensive one.
- Level up only when your current tickets give you enough profit to handle the higher prices.
You will lose a lot of money while scratching most of the tickets until your Luck reaches a useful level. Do not rush into expensive tickets when you cannot afford a few bad results.
You can press Q to change your scratching mode to Wrist Protection Mode. This can make the large amount of manual scratching easier.
2. Ticket Merge
Goal: Merge tickets until you reach $2.00T.
You can only buy plates. Merge two plates to create a Two Win, then merge two Two Wins to create a Mini Scratch. Keep merging to produce higher-tier tickets.
The challenge starts quickly, but the better tickets need stronger Coin or Scratch Bot upgrades and higher Scratch Luck before they become profitable.
- Buy plates in batches of around 25.
- Let the automatic merging system combine them.
- Place the ticket you are currently scratching on the Sticky Mat so it does not get merged.
- Upgrade Scratch Luck and your scratching strength.
- Start scratching higher-tier tickets when you can afford to handle them.
You can use the Scratch Bot, but you must feed tickets into it manually because the Fan will otherwise send the cheap plates into the machine.
Skip Mundo for this challenge. You will not scratch that many tickets, and without Picky Eater, Mundo cannot safely discard losing tickets.
3. Limited Supply
Goal: Reach $200K using only 15 tickets.
You start with $8,000 and have Two Win, Mini Scratch, and Apple Tree unlocked. You cannot buy more than 15 tickets, so every purchase will impact your run.
This challenge depends entirely on luck. Make sure to use the Quick Restart button when your run starts bad instead of wasting your remaining tickets.
- Upgrade Scratch Luck to level 3.
- Buy a Mini Scratch to earn enough money to unlock Apple Tree.
- Try another Mini Scratch if the first one does not give you a Jackpot.
- Restart if your first or second ticket fails to give the Jackpot you need.
- Once you get a Jackpot, buy Apple Tree tickets and scratch them.
- Keep going until you can afford Quick Cash.
- If Quick Cash gives you enough money, upgrade Scratch Luck to level 4 and spend the remaining money on Quick Cash tickets.
At Luck level 3, you can get a 50% Jackpot chance on Mini Scratch. Even with the right setup, you may need several attempts.
4. Lucky Bag
Goal: Earn $5 trillion using Lucky Bags.
You buy Lucky Bags instead of individual tickets. Each bag contains a selection of tickets or plates, and expensive bags can contain better tickets.
The main challenge is building enough income to buy the higher-priced bags consistently.
- Purchase with the bags you can afford.
- Upgrade Scratch Luck and Coin strength as you earn money.
- Use the Scratch Bot to scratch tickets automatically.
- Use Mundo with Picky Eater to collect winning tickets and discard losing ones.
- Move to more expensive bags when your current setup can handle their contents.
5. Print Error
Goal: Earn $50 trillion using the faulty printer.
Tickets will cost half their normal price and give three times the usual rewards. However, your supply is limited because the printer produces the tickets.
You will start with 50 tickets. As the supply gets low, you’ll face printing errors. These errors corrupt some symbols, making them worthless.
You can refill the printer’s ink, but each refill costs more than the previous one.
- Wash dishes until you can afford your first Scratch Luck upgrade.
- Upgrade the printer as much as possible.
- Scratch tickets manually so you can check the symbols and track your money.
- Keep enough money available for the next ink refill.
- Move to the next ticket tier only when your Scratch Luck is high enough to make it worthwhile.
The Scratch Bot and Mundo are poor choices here because you need to manage your ticket supply and ink costs carefully.
The dishwashing trick is useful because washing dishes earns money without using any of your printed tickets.
6. Shuffle
Goal: Complete the challenge with randomized symbols.
Every ticket has random symbols, and you cannot use gadgets. Scratch Luck is the only upgrade available that you’ll have in this challenge.
You cannot rely on the usual symbol patterns, so check what each ticket contains before scratching it.
- Inspect the symbols on each ticket.
- Scratch only the symbols that can give you money.
- Don’t blindly scratch the whole ticket.
- Upgrade Scratch Luck when you have enough money.
- Go for the next ticket once you can afford it.
Treat each ticket like Apple Tree or Scratch My Back. Always check the symbols instead of thinking that every ticket follows a fixed pattern.
This challenge can take around 10–15 minutes with a good run.
7. Gadget Only
Goal: Earn 1 No using gadgets only.
You cannot buy tickets manually, claim rewards manually, or purchase permanent Prestige upgrades. You will start with all gadgets and some upgrades already unlocked.
The challenge is mostly about keeping the automatic setup running without letting it waste your money.
Here’s how to complete this Scritchy Scratchy: Gadgets Only Challenge
8. No Luck Involved
Goal: Earn $5.50 No without upgrading Scratch Luck.
You cannot upgrade Scratch Luck during this challenge. You must rely on the ticket’s normal odds, with Jackpots and Super Jackpots providing the large rewards needed to reach the target.
- Focus on tickets with good Jackpot chances.
- Avoid spending too much on tickets that rarely give you a good reward.
- Use your money to move toward better tickets when you can afford them.
- Be careful with Mundo because you cannot rely on Picky Eater to discard losing tickets.
This challenge takes longer than most because you cannot improve your Luck.
9. Ticket Furnace
Goal: Earn $1 Sx before the Furnace runs out.
Check out this dedicated Scritchy Scratchy: Ticket Furnace Challenge 9 Guide for detailed strategy steps.
Some Scritchy Scratchy challenges will require more than a few tries, especially Limited Supply and Ticket Furnace. Don’t waste too much money when your run starts going bad, and save your JP for upgrades that help with the next run. For the secret ending, you need to finish all challenges, so complete those before starting another run for No More Gambling.
