If you want to unlock the Are You Alright? achievement in Valheim, then you will have to die in 16 different ways. Not every death type counts for this achievement, so you should know how to die 16 times to trigger this achievement.
Here are all 16 death types needed for this achievement.
All Deaths Type for the Are You Alright? Achievement
1. Death by Enemy
Get killed by any hostile enemy in Valheim. This is one of the easiest deaths that you can get naturally while playing the game.
2. Death by Falling
Jump or fall from a height and let the fall damage kill you.
3. Death by Drowning
Dive into the deep water and stay underwater until your stamina runs out. Your character will soon drown to death.
4. Death by Burning
Enter a fire area or another source of burning damage and let it kill you.
5. Death by Freezing
Let the Freezing effect kill you in a cold area. The Mountain biome is the easiest place to trigger this if you do not have protection against the cold.
6. Death by Poison
Start taking poison and let the damage kill you. Enemies and other sources of poison can trigger this death.
7. Death by Smoke Inhalation
Build a fire or campfire inside a small enclosed area.
Stay inside the room as the smoke builds up. The Smoked effect will soon kill you.
This death type is easy to miss. It was confirmed after a suggestion to try suffocating from smoke while standing around a furnace or campfire.
8. Death by Tree
Get crushed by a falling tree.
Cut down a tree and stand where it can fall onto your character. The tree damage must kill you for this death type to count.
9. Death by Catapult
You need to die from the Catapult itself, not its ammunition.
Get crushed by the spikes on the Catapult’s legs while placing it. Being hit by a launched projectile does not count.
10. Death by Ballista
Let a Ballista kill you. Set one up and position yourself in front of it until it fires and kills your character.
11. Death by Obliterator
Stand on the Obliterator when it is activated.
The lightning strike from the Obliterator can kill you, and this death counts toward the achievement.
12. Death by Drawbridge
Use a Drawbridge and get crushed by it.
13. Death by Stalactite
Go inside a Mountain Ice Cave and find a stalactite.
Let the falling stalactite hit you until it kills your character.
14. Death by Ashlands Ocean
Enter the Ashlands Ocean and stay in it until the heat kills you.
This death is listed separately from normal drowning because the Ashlands Ocean can kill you through its extreme heat.
15. Death by Ashlands Lava
Die from Ashlands Lava.
16. Death by Falling off the Edge of the World
Sail your ship beyond the edge of the world and fall off.
This is the final unusual death required for the achievement.
Once you have experienced all the above death types, the achievement will be given to you instantly.
Deaths That Do Not Count
Here are some death types that do not count towards the Are You Alright? achievement.
- PvP deaths
- Bees
- Food poisoning from Bukeberries or rotten meat
- Stake walls
- Bear Traps
- Trollstav deaths, including the summon and landing
- Catapult ammunition
- Eitr Refinery
- Windmills
