Endless Rails gives you control of an armed train trying to survive a monster-filled wasteland. You have to keep the tracks clear, upgrade your train at stations, and use drones and weapons to deal with stronger enemy waves.
Most of the Endless Rails achievements are straightforward to unlock while you play. Some of them require specific train upgrades or surviving long enough in the Outside, so those are the achievements worth planning for.

Best Strategy for Surviving 20 Waves in the Outside
To complete the 100% achievements, you’ll need to go for the I’m Still Alive, which requires you to survive 20 waves in the Outside.
A strong setup is to use Model T and build around Rifle Drones. Shotgun Drones are best if you use them as your second priority, while Rifle Turrets will give you extra damage from the train.
For your first several runs, focus on modules that improve:
- Drone Mobility
- Coin Gain
Drone Mobility is especially useful early on. Your drones can move around the screen faster, collect coins, and kill enemies without leaving the train completely exposed.
Try to get your cars to Level 3 so you can trade them for global upgrades. Take at least one Max Health upgrade from a trade-in, then focus the remaining trade-ins on Rifle Crit and Rifle Damage.
Rifle Crit can reach 100%, which gives your rifle-focused build a major damage boost.
Early Waves
You do not need a huge setup during the first 10 waves.
One or two Rifle Drones can help you a lot in the early game. You can also run a Rifle Drone with a Shotgun Drone if the shop gives you the right modules.
Pick up useful Coin Gain and Drone Mobility modules early. Later, start replacing them with stronger Level 3 Drone modules and AI Brains.
When the shop gives a strong upgrade, lock it instead of spending it immediately. This lets you save coins and keeps the upgrade available for a better point in the run.
How to Survive the Outside
The Outside is where things start getting out of hand. I had no big trouble reaching Gater around Level 30, but after Level 32, the enemy waves can get overwhelming pretty fast.
At this point, I stopped running around the map just to collect coins. Keep your train and drones closer to the middle of the screen and focus on staying alive.
Use the drone special ability whenever you can. The extra damage helps a lot when the screen starts filling up with enemies.
I also stopped trading away my Level 3 cars once I had a good setup. The extra modules and slots are more useful during the later waves than another trade-in upgrade.
For I’m Still Alive, you don’t have to defeat Grandma again. Just survive the wave before Grandma appears, and the achievement will unlock.
Recommended Train Setup
This is the setup I used to survive 20 waves in the Outside:
Model T
- Level 3 Rifle Drone
Level 3 Car 1
- Uranium
- Plutonium
- Rifle Turret
- Rifle Turret
Level 3 Car 2
- Level 3 Shotgun Drone
- Level 3 Rifle Drone
- Level 2 Rifle Drone
- Level 3 Rifle Drone
Level 3 Car 3
- Uranium
- Plutonium
- Piercer
- Plutonium
Level 3 Car 4
- Level 2 Rifle Drone
- Level 3 Shotgun Drone
- AI Brain
- AI Brain
Level 2 Car 5
- Level 2 Shotgun Drone
- AI Brain
Level 1 Car 6
- Rifle Turret
You don’t have to build the train exactly like this. The modules you get can change from run to run, so getting the same setup every time isn’t realistic.
The main thing is to build around Rifle Drones and increase their fire rate and damage. AI Brains are also useful because they make your drones hit harder.
For the early waves, this kind of setup can give you enough damage without needing to spend too much on defensive upgrades. Once you reach the Outside and the enemy numbers start getting crazy, focus more on keeping your train alive.
